Donna has over 30 years’ experience producing multi-disciplinary performance experiences across stage, screen, immersive and interactive platforms, that have been presented across many of the world’s most prestigious theatres, festivals, and media channels. She joined Dickson Mbi Company in February 2025.

Motivated by her experience as a former dancer and artistic director, Donna works to see quality artistic ideas succeed through strong partnerships, prudent management and appropriate funding. She has a long history of stewarding artists’ ideas from the early stages of development through to fully realised productions, devising strategies to broaden financial support and audiences for dance artists, programming and producing performances and events, and supporting innovative collaborations between dance and other art forms, particularly interactive digital work.

Donna has worked with choreographer Alexander Whitley since 2012, co-founding Alexander Whitley Dance Company (AWDC), an award-winning, internationally acclaimed creative studio that has been redefining the boundaries of dance through its pioneering work with digital technology. Her work for AWDC includes developing and managing UK & international tours and high-profile commissions for presentation at Sadler’s Wells and the Royal Opera House; and, VR, AR & installation work incorporating interactive technology with Guardian VR, digital artists Marshmallow Laser Feast, Memo Akten, Luca Biada/Fenyce, BCAA and Uncharted Limbo Collective.

 

She is also an adjunct faculty member for the Roger Williams University London Dance programme (US/UK).

 

Donna was Dance and Performance Event Co-ordinator at the Southbank Centre and has managed projects for Hofesh Shechter, Freddie Opoku-Addaie, and Jean Abreu Dance, amongst others. She was Artist Fellowship Coordinator for the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (USA) and danced professionally for 16 years while co-Artistic Director and Executive Director of Groundwerx Dance Theatre.
